...Regardless of whatever warning that the refined voice gave me, I decided to press on regardless. I raised my hand and began walking towards the monolithic gold, just until I had pressed my palm against it. When I did, the perfectly symmetrical and true flat surface began to shift against my hand. I saw it inverse, and split apart. The golden made a doorway for me, from which I saw blank light that I waked into.
I entered the Tower of the Gods, the Axis Mundi built by the Xanthous Emperor's own hands...
...
When I reached the end of whatever transient pathway I stepped through, I exited a vague darkness into a new sight.
The gilded top of a great tree made of the same gold that formed the Tower of the Gods. Every branch, all the bark and even the leaves were as pieces of gold and bejeweled light. Whirling and whipping clouds surrounded us in a place just below Heaven itself. In fact, these were the final steps of the last threshold before entering the realm of the Emperor himself. This place unbound by dimensions in its entirety. The door frame of a higher plane.
This was the top of the Tower. An axis made as a great bodhi tree.
[MAJORDOMO] "Wait, Muna... look up there."
