right on cue, one of the worms jumps put it inside another sample bottle. there's a small rattling and squabble as something in that jar with lots of spines and stingers spears it to death. that problem solves itself. many of the samples are unnaturally rotted as if they've been left for months

getting sprayed down, and then reporting on the mission goes well. the drone flies off somewhere and delivers its footage, and you're told to get a day or two rest when you can while the samples are tested. when you can of course, around the other two case files on your desk. but yeah you just escaped death and could probably spend the rest of the day off at this point. speaking of, updates on your two outstanding cases
case file one. the ship left anyway (against orders) and actually captured a creature from the planet that they found (against orders), after losing half the crew. they were last seen drifting towards the illegal cartel planets while going radio silent. the repo guys are going to do this if you won't but find that ship, find those dumbasses, find what the hell they brought off that world
case file two's evidence is being tested right now.
case file three, ho boy. several neighborhoods were butchered in the night since that last report, leaving the planetary leader in intensive care, and his wife in charge there. the attackers were clearly animals of some kind, the company now wants you to address this first if you can find the time. something on the worlds surface is an unknown people eating creature. find out what kind of people eating monstrosity we're dealing with here specifically, if you can. find out why it's eating people now instead of previously
