“Got it, Wrath Leader. You heard Storm Lord, yeah? We really kicked the hornets’ nest.”
“Yeah. Yeah, but they won’t have much more reason to stick around. Look down there, the garden boys have the town. Contract said that was what we needed to stay up for.”
“Still sticking around, though?”
“’Course. Now cover my ass.”
"Won't be easy."
"Shut the hell up."</span>

The eastern group tensed, near as a whole, as the tank destroyers ahead seemed poised to remove at least a few of them from the field- Kohlkopf was quickest to get his men aiming anti-tank rifles, only for the enemy position to vanish in the heavy thudding booms of impacting artillery, dismounted men clapping their hands to their ears with the sudden cacophony. When the smoke and fire faded, the enemy threat…was no more.
A moment of quiet relief and puzzlement, before all soldiered on. Von Totmann drove in, followed shortly by Von Zufalligdorf- into what he with a start thought was an ambush, until he realized the disheveled fusiliers had sprung out not to spray him with rifle fire, but to lay down their arms.
A not unwelcome development, though reports to the east came along with the droning hum of aircraft flying down low- armored contact. Apparently, beleaguered scout craft said, the probing of larger reinforcements.
Well, if they wanted to test the defenses, they were ready to repel them. If the Bat-Ears were smart, they’d learn soon enough that this ground belonged to Vynmark once again.
