"Hearing about all those towns and airships..." Bertha lamented as she looked at her hammer. "They were all super far from the road we were sent down. It made things WAY harder that it should've been."
"At least we made it out alive and in one piece." Mel say the bright side of things. "And hey, it was sort of fun."
"Fun? With all due respect, I must disagree." Ruby replied. You recalled how the others would say that, on the journey to your mansion, Ruby Rose would constantly grumble about how dirty she was getting and boss the others to do the hard work for her. More than usual, at least. "Unlike my gallant Master, I sincerely doubt Forthwythe put enough thought to plan out a 'fun' quest."
"We were sent here to die." Gerty responded with bitterness. "It was only through our Master's goodness and a miracle from the gods that we survived."
"A miracle?" Herta said, confused. "I mean, I guess it's-"
"We can't lament about the past." Ayane said with confidence. "We must always continue to stand up again and move forward, no matter how impossible it might appear. For our Master's sake, and the sake of his children."
"Well said, Ayane." You commended your fox wife, rewarding her feelings with a kiss to the cheek. "With that all said, we'll board The Vixen's Luck to get a better look from above and bomb any bandit encampments we find."
"An excellent thought, Master!" Gerty supported your strategies, though you knew she was more the type to fight them head on.
"Might I make a suggestion before you get in the air, my gallant Master~?" Ruby said.
"Of course." You allowed it. "Gerty, I'll have you control the clankers from the ground just in case something happens, try to coordinate with Mel. Ruby, you'll stay back in the radio tower and keep tabs on everyone. The rest of you will follow me in the airship and help out there."
"Master, with these orders we'll get them quickly!" Gerty, who was your Holy Knight, secretary, and main tactician declared.
"Don't be too hasty." You cautioned. "This is mostly for reconnaissance. The true battle will come later."
"Sir! Yes sir!" Said Gerty. You weren't sure if your words went through to her.
"My gallant Master," Ruby smiled. "Might I further suggest you employ the assistance of that spirit of yours?"
"She helped a lot back in the cave." Bertha begrudgingly admitted.
"Yumi isn't being cooperative right now." You informed. The ghostgirl was being more of a moody brat than usual after you teased her about how small her breasts were.
"While her powers are undeniably good if used for a righteous cause, her cooperation is up to chance." Gerty observed.
"A shame. Her skills could be of great use to us in this situation, especially against beguilers." Ruby shrugged. "Oh well."
"I wonder if we can get her to possess a machine." Mel thought aloud.
"We'd need to make sure it's in a controlled environment." Herta said. "I mean we all know most ghosts go nuts when they control mechanical stuff."
