TalOS looked over the monitors that were connected to the chamber that was in the middle of his workspace. In the middle of the structure was a small brain that was encased within a giant jar of plasma. The systems around him told of how much vitamins and oxygens were being fed into the subject. Very similar to how Servitors operate near indefinitely.
Though an educated mind would notice that these systems were not feeding the standard Servitor Mixture.
TalOS took in a breath as he studied the nearby psi sensor. The object monitoring that the field in front of TalOS was one tier below background psychic radiation. He glanced at the four Psi Candles that he placed around the brain as they gave an eerie glow. With a firmness of understanding TalOS pressed a few other buttons and watched as the anesthetic has now stopped being fed into the chamber.
With a few other presses of buttons TalOS watched as the electro-monitors began telling him of activity starting back up. He took a moment to see the threads being created and watched as they began to grow erratic. TalOS took a moment to judge the activity and began comparing it to what he knew of the human brain.
If he was a wise man the mind was trying to say, ‘Where am I? Why can I not feel anything? Is this the afterlife?’
TalOS simply shook his head at the blessed ignorance of the soul before him. The state that this brain was held was a blessed one as it was kept alive by machines. That the Afterlife was far worse than what it was experiencing right now.
It was then that TalOS watched the psi sensors begin to pick up the slightest. The Primarch began to make some changes to the Psi Candles and activated another line of the candles. To make sure that the soul before him would not do anything odd, TalOS made sure to keep the psionic radiation at a constant.
With that done TalOS looked at the Psi Sensors that were all about the subject. He grew a slight smile as he noticed that the amount of radiation actually decreased as it approached the mind before him. It was minut, so small that it likely would not have meant anything. But it did, this was the fifth brain TalOS experimented and each of them granted him a similar result. He had not tested it with the more… powerful brains but he knew it was still the case!
It was consuming background Psionic Radiation and turning it into something more comparable to an engine sucking in oil. And just like an engine, it occurred mostly when it was awakened. So… why?
