“So, let me get this straight.” you say, crossing your arms as you stare the crimson-clad goddess down. And despite her encouragement, trying to get you to play the board game on the table between you and even taken the first move, sending her pawn in front of her king forward two spaces. “You want me to train with you, getting used to battling divine ki to prepare for this fight. And in exchange, you want me to publicly announce that it was YOUR strategy and help that allowed me to defeat that bitch?”
“That is correct.” the Red Knight says, remaining perfectly calm, still waiting for you to make a move on the board. “Her rise has led to a decline in my own power, with her siphoning away my worshipers. Falsely proclaiming herself to be a patron deity of strategy and battle tactics.”
“Well, she DID outmaneuver you by having you fight me first.” you point out, to which the woman's brows furrow a bit in clear annoyance. “Having me, someone she bested before take you down, that not only boosted my own worshipers' numbers, but her own too no doubt. Claiming that I needed help from you wouldn't do anything for me. In fact, it could damage my followers' faith in me.”
“But you have taken to the tutelage of that former Champion, the one you no doubt bested before returning.” she points out. “Would this not be similar, Chaya?”
You are Chaya, the once and future Champion of Dreadzone and daughter of the first Super Saiyans in over a thousand years. After your defeat at the hands of your former best friend Tanya, then your subsequent maiming by that bastard Time Patroller Trunks, you've emerged as a new woman. Ready to conquer everyone in your way and reclaim your title, you'd harnessed the power of all of your uncounted trillions of fans across the universe and learned to wield their collective faith in you as divine power. Divine power that allowed you to defeat her, a genuine deity in one-on-one combat.
“That's different.” you say, ready to point out exactly why that is. But before you can, a familiar voice reaches out to you telepathically.
“Big sis, you're up, right?” Okira reaches out to you unexpectedly. “Can you come help?”
