Time to return back to the party. You spot your son with two of his friends, SOREN ARRINGTON and LOUIS CORBETT, in a corner, chatting amongst themselves. You decide to pay them a little visit. As you walk up to them, Junior shoots you a smile. You think this unusual behavior; he usually never does this in front of his friends.
"Dad, you r-really went to a shooting, right? You... gotta tell Soren and Louis about it!" he says excitedly. Soren and Louis seem to have been hearing this for a bit, based on their expressions.
"Well, uh, yeah. Wanted to try something new. Alright, so. I get there, and this nice man and your uncle Hank show me this wall full of guns. I immediately chose a Glock-22 pistol—"
"Like the one uncle Hank has?" Junior can't help but interject.
"Yeah, exactly," you smile. "It was pretty standard stuff. I did pretty good for my first time. But then, I chose the... uh... it was a rifle. I can't remember the name, but it was heavy. I focused... and then bam, bam, bam! I must've hit that bullseye six or seven times! Guess your dad's a bit of sharpshooter now." You chuckle at your story, but the boys don't really seem that impressed.
"That's cool," Soren says.
"Yeah, go Mr. White," Louis adds. They sound bored as hell. You've got to spice things up.
"Yeah, well, it's all about precision. Like chemistry!" You proceed to spend the next 5 minutes talking about how essential precision and accuracy are to chemists.
"Uh, that's cool, dad," your son interrupts. Hey, you weren't fini— hang on.
"Um, Soren, was it? Aren't you in my third period class?" Soren flinches and seems to stifle a groan.
"Uh, yeah. AP Chem."
"Right, right. You're still coming in for tutorials tomorrow, right? With those grades, you're really going to have—"
"Yeah! I'll be there Mr. White," Soren cuts you short. Walt Jr. and Louis are cackling, while Soren, red-faced, tells them to shut up.
"Alright. You boys have fun." You walk off. Looks like you'll have time for one more thing before you'll have to bring the party to a close.
