Mel considered her options. There was a storeroom in Joe’s cave she hadn’t explored, that probably had useful supplies, but probably nothing combat oriented. There was bird valley to the south, a complete unknown. Babs probably didn’t have more to offer in terms of potions. Taking out the centipede would probably be cathartic, but it was difficult to say if there was anything useful in its den. Simply increasing her mana pool was a straightforward advantage. Learning how to summon an imp would give her an extra pair of hands. And of course she should probably think about where to stage her fight, fighting a bull in Joe’s cave would be frighteningly claustrophobic, but it would probably put the birds at a disadvantage.
