You know, she isn’t a huge fan of crowded places, but she <span class="mu-i">is</span> into anime. You consider dressing up for the occasion – it isn’t really your thing, but this is a special occasion, and you might as well do something a little outside your comfort zone to make this day stand out. Convincing Etsy to cosplay would be hard if not for the fact you used your week favor she lent you a while ago, so she has to go through with it whether she wants it or not. You end up picking matching cosplay, one where your mechanical arm fits perfectly. You have to dye your hair blonde, and your short hair makes it quite hard to match the character’s forehead to hair ratio – but you manage to make it work. You also help Etsy with her haircut, although a few patches of black hairs are noticeable even after the dye, you think it looks pretty good.
You’ve actually cut your own hair for as long as you can remember, as you always thought hair saloon were outrageously expensive. Etsy also did her own hair, but her problem was that she didn’t trust people that held sharp object close to her head, instead of it being a money issue. Despite your best effort, it was too hard to make Etsy’s cosplay not show any cleavage, but you’re sure there will be more risqué cosplays around the convention anyway, so it’s unlikely she’ll be the center of attention.
Etsy makes absolutely sure the house is secure, and keep K.I.S.A in a nearby truck before finally entering the convention. The place is crowded, but not as much as you feared. You have enough space to move around and take in the sights and sounds – and there’s a lot of that around.
Etsy’s still looking around for any potential threat, but you squeeze her hands every time she starts to freak out a little too hard, which is enough to calm her down. There are actually a few awakened magic users around here, but you don’t tell Etsy since she’s already stressed enough as is, you’ll be able to tell if they try anything anyway.
You also end up running into both of your old coworkers, who are also both cosplaying. Your sister in arms is wearing two wolf ears and a kimono, and to your surprise, the Asian girl is the one wearing the most suggestive outfit, it’s a magical girl bikini with a succubus tail that wraps around her neck, she doesn’t look very happy about the way people are looking at her, but it does take attention away from Etsy.
“Hey, my man!” Your sister in arms says. “Don’t think I haven’t forgotten about you deserting like this! You left like it was...” She stares at Etsy’s face, and her gaze starts going a little lower. “Jesus Christ. Never mind dude, I get it. Live your best life.”
