You witness this with grim satisfaction, as the dwarves realize they are no beset from both sides.
To their credit, your adversaries swiftly rally, beginning to form up in spite of a lack of leadership. A volley of stones, and thrown axes and knives, are hurled in your direction, forcing your forces to back up, and then their forces begin to charge for what they see as a weak point in your line—a place with fewer slingers than most, where the kobolds’ melee capabilities are all that stand between these dwarves and a strategic regouping beyond your immediate span of control.
