Kelbor Hal was upon one of the many ships that were transporting men and material from the Holy World of Mars to the Cradle of Humanity, Terra. Twenty three hours ago the Imperial Fists, supported by Legio Tempestus and House Taranis, fell the siege upon the capital of the Adeptus Mechanicus. During that time Kelbor had brought up the Skitarii and Automatons that were under his control and led a break out attempt upon the Hereteks who had tried to take the city as their own.
It was a slaughter that Kelbor Hal would approve of if he was not slaughtering his own people. It was a massive drain upon the resources of Mars and was also filled to the brim with treachery! It was hard for he himself to rationalize the sheer amount of heresy that was upon the Mechanicus in this dire hour.
Horus Lupercal, spawn of the False Omnissiah, had declared himself to be freeing the Imperium from the Tyranny of Mortals. At that time Kelbor thought that the Warmaster’s heresy was only going to be limited to the Emperor but the strike upon Mars proved his thoughts wrong.
Granted, he was still prepared for something. Legio Mortis was present upon the planet and it was obvious that their Siege Engines had served alongside Horus. The only issue was that Kelbor was not willing to bring war to Mars and scar it for simple paranoia. Such a thought was reasonable since the reason for Horus’s Heresy was for the surpirority of Transhumans. Kelbor was poking Mortis, trying to get them to realize that siding with such a maniac was not in the best interest of Mars.
Then the Hereteks released their attack upon the infrastructure of Mars.
He did not expect the kinds of Technosorcery to be employed across the systems. How even listening to the script was enough to infect a system with the virus of corruption. Kelbor had sent several spies out after learning that the Noosphere was safe to use, thus learning how the legions of damnation carried themselves like puppets in a theater.
He was played by something else. Clearly it was not a human force for it did not seem to care about what was to be protected or not. Only that the Hereteks it now controlled wished to either taint as many machines it could get its hands upon or destroy as many lives as possible.
It was during the darkest hour when Kelbor realized this that it began to rain upon Mars. As it rained, he witnessed through the eyes of his minions his arrival.
Kelbor had kept such information in Databanks for a while, finally pulling it out as he realized who was also upon this vessel with him. He had been placed upon the Onus Probandi for transport to Terra with its Captain being TalOS DAV1S. Or, as Kelbor understood these days, to be the Omnissiah.
