“And what’s the other reason?” You ask.
“The 2nd is much simpler. I could offer you power, but you don’t trust me right?” She answers.
“...” You say nothing.
“A bit pointless to offer you more strength when you think I’m going to take advantage of you and hurt you if you say yes right?” She asks.
“Well? Are you?” You ask.
“Does my word even mean anything to you? I have no intention of harming or using you but just saying that doesn’t prove I won’t do so anyway.” She answers.
“True.” You nod.
“For me to give you this power, the first thing I need you to do is put your trust in me and I mean truly put your trust in me.” She demands.
“If you can’t do that, it’s not going to work.” She states.
“You say that…but I…” You trail off.
“Don’t worry, I’m not upset. I understand, I am strange and foreign to you, I’ve invaded the inside of your soul and I refuse to get out, my objectives are unclear and I refuse to tell you what they are. Of course you’d be suspicious of someone like that.” She assures.
“But still, Derrick…” She comes up to you and takes a gentle hold of your left hand, holding it tight with her hands.
They’re soft and cold, almost corpse-like but strangely pleasant as she plays with your hand, “The one thing I’ve made very clear is my love for you is very, very real, wouldn’t you say?” She asks.
You nod, “Yes…But I don’t understand, why? What in the world have I done that you would love me for?”
“Shh…” She shushes, she grows even closer, pressing her head into your chest, “Don’t ask…You don’t need to know yet…” She assures.
“All you need to know is that my love is real and it is worthy of your trust.” She looks up from your chest and locks her dark gaze directly with yours, her eyes like two wells of pure darkness, you could literally get lost in them if you stare too long.
“I have so much to give you but it’s hard for me to do anything with this wall of mistrust between us…let it down Derrick.” She orders.
“Let it…down?” You repeat.
“Let it down…Trust me Derrick. Just this once.” She asks.
What do you say?
>Okay…I trust you.
>I…Don’t think I can…
