It looks like D'Anger's intelligence was solid and the Styrian Navy has practically abandoned the peripheries already. Neither Serrakis or Movrodia play host to serious Naval forces such as capital ships or escort flotillas.
Thanks to its high population and level of industrial development, Movrodia does play host to a large number of defence platforms and other orbital defences around the planet itself and dispersed through the system, as well as a number of defence monitors and system ship squadrons.
Serrakis meanwhile has even less in the way of Naval defence. A token armed station above the planet itself and a small group of defence monitors to police the system.
Admiral Hefin appraises the situation as both good and bad news.
>On the one hand, Warmaster, it does mean we could lay Naval claim to the systems with relative ease. Even both at the same time. Committing parts of our available fleet forces to the Movrodia and Serrakis systems would help secure our flanks and logistical lines. Say, one cruiser, one light cruiser, and two escort squadrons to each system. It would severely limit the speed with which the Styrian Navy could manoeuvre around us, and ensure that all four million guardsmen are brought into the system promptly and securely.>On the other hand this means it is almost certain that the Styrians have amassed their entire remaining naval power within the core of their empire. And posting ships to Serrakis and Movrodia will make us less defended here on Brohmidae, should they attempt a mass counter-offensive with their Navy. We'll call the session here tonight and I will be writing up full information for Serrakis and Movrodia tommorrow.
Thanks! And have a good night.
