https://youtu.be/clX4YQwnpL0 - THEIR BASE
It can barely be called a 'base', actually. The thing in front of you is a barely held together pile of concrete, rebar, brick and wood in a poor facsimile of a building. What could be generously described as window frames have long since been boarded up with welded on sheet metal.
Three guards stand around the front entrance of the building. Unlike the other thugs you've seen, they're in some pretty thick and bulky outfits made out of some sort of thick fabric, sorta like a fireman's outfit. Thick gas masks and helmets shield their faces as well.
They have leashes made out of the same thick fireproof(?) fabric in their hands. They're connected to collars that are wrapped around big, stick-bug like creatures. Their limbs are sharp and jagged and their black carapace has several dark-red cracks on them. You recognize them. Firecrackers, you saw them when you found the warehouse they kidnapped Benjamin at.
Seems like they learnt their lessons from your previous trick given how they're wrapped in as much fireproof stuff as possible. Lex seems to recognize what's going on to and lets out a small groan.
Your attention is snapped back to the young boy you handed the wallet back to. He's already talking to the three guards standing outside of the base. You can't make out much from here but it seems to involve your group somehow. The young boy enters after finishing whatever he was saying to them.
The three guards look back at you, seemingly trying to analyze you...but they shrug with disinterest. They start looking at anywhere and anyone passing by BESIDES the four of you. Whatever the boy said to them seems to have made them not even want to acknowledge your presence. Interesting.
>DCs for the next vote have been lowered."I think we can just walk in if we wanted to." Lex crosses his arms. "That little favor Nicky earnt us is probably enough for them."
"I don't know." Ashley scratches her neck with an agitated look on her face. "I don't think it's that easy. We got the right stuff to blend in but we'll be in the lion's den if we go that way."
"So? Apparently we have a fucking psychic here." Lex places a head on your head. "I bet she has some wild bullshit she can pull off." He nervously glances at Quentin. "...and we do have a meatshield."
"No offense taken." Quentin chirps. "I believe your own shells and layers of skin should be focused on over me. I believe they're quite fragile compared to my intended ones."
"What the fuck is that supposed to me?" Lex is absolutely bewildered by the comment. Ashley rubs her arm with obvious discomfort.
"Psychics predict the future and read minds, Lex. I can't do that." Not yet, anyways. "Look, I'll think of something, alright?" You ARE at the base in question. You're probably close to the goal of crippling the gang enough to satisfy the Handler if you can pull off a decent plan.
What to do, Nicole?
