The soils of the land felt like any other if Lucian was completely honest. Nothing about the immediate landscape screamed that there were going to be problems for them. Even the mountains that dotted the edges of the horizon did not scream something exotic to Lucian for he had seen a great deal of the Grey Mountains even recently. Such mountains were places that the Grail Knight had, during his becoming, traveled almost the entire length of.
The difference here was instead of walking underneath the mountains as the Dwarfs had, here he would be climbing over them.
“So you seek out the Dragon?” Stepping off the small boat was the Elf. Her hair dripped gold as she stood the same height as Lucian.
“I need the strongest and most mighty of mounts if I am to return to Bretonnia and strike at great evil.” Lucian told her as he glanced towards her, “Do you advise against it?”
“I do not know in the records of mankind of any of your kin succeeding in bringing a being of such scale to your service.” She answered with conviction, “We, the High Elves, have a legacy to adhire to. The Dragon Princes of Caledor.”
“Then it has been done.”
“These days I understand that even they no longer ride Dragons.” She answered back.
“Does not mean mankind cannot succeed.” Answered Lucian as he took the first step forward, “Did you come here to advise me against this action or to help?”
The Elf held her tongue for a moment, and Lucian was ready to walk as far as he could, but then the answer came, “The issue is that mankind always tries to dominate. Dragons are before even the Great Old Ones.”
“Good to know.” Lucian said as he took the next step.
