>>5561006“It’s probably meant to keep anything inside here from escaping.” you speculate. “But that’s beside the point. I need to get down to the bottom layer. Shut off the thing there.” You’ve got the barrier ready, and move towards the door. “Ready?”
“Ready.”
https://youtu.be/3HSIHX_rzGUYou have your mech start to ID every grub you can, starting with the ones on the other side of the door. Suddenly you reverse out the barrier, capturing them all in one fell swoop. Yamcha gives the door a quick but strong punch, stabbing a hole through it with his fist. He pulls it back, and the whole door with it, tossing it aside.
You and Yamcha start moving, getting out of the room first. Maple teleports in a while afterward, appearing behind you both. Noticing you and Yamcha moving, she starts moving too, and the three of you are now flying through the castle’s interior. You do take care to catalog and attempt to lure out any more of the grubs wandering the area, ending up with a count of at least 30. More orca-wolves with the Shapeless inside them are also prowling around, along with other animals. Oversized arctic foxes, a number of white lemmings, a couple hares that radiate a strong and dangerous presence, even some dinosaurs with white coats like those of polar bears. Each one probably normal fauna that’ve been taken in by the Shapeless.
…But what slows you all just a bit are some ornate paintings, spread across the walls. Portraits, of who are probably important rulers, accompanied with pictures of what are probably their most notable achievements. You catch glimpse of a young man with spiky, dark brown hair, blue tunic and dashing red cape, coronet around his head. He’s portrayed next to a woman in similar dress and weaponry to himself leading a slightly ragtag but determined army of knights, martial artists, sages, mages, and even… a few clowns…? …all against a Makyan sorcerer and his own band of minions. Next, a man that looks a slight bit like your dad, but with more rugged features, possessing that same blonde spiky hair but looking noticeably taller. His scene portrays him in armor, defending who you assume to be a princess of some sort against a massive purple dragon. This continues for a bit, showing other assumed rulers and their deeds, a woman with green hair and similarly green outfit, a man with a turban with long and flowing brown hair in a white outfit, a pink-haired woman with an angelic smile in more royal garb, a muscular man with spiky blue hair in green and orange, but it finally comes to a rather abrupt end.
