At the door of Alexi Meshkoff's home we are met by a giant in a Cossack uniform. We ask to see Mr. Meshkoff. He gives us a perplexed look and says something in what must be Russian, the only intelligible word of which is "Meshkoff." We repeat our request and the Cossack says "Da, Meshkoff," and he repeats what he first said. Finally we come to the conclusion that each could repeat ourselves a thousand times over and neither would understand the other. We decide that the better part of valour is to retreat to the nearest pub.
