>>5307141In that jewelry box lurks the demon which damned the kobolds to their unfortunate encounter… With you. It dwells within an accursed ring, hewn of many interlaced strips of black metal, with a green gem like an ever-watching, ever envious eye. You worship Dark Gods, it is true, but this lesser darkness has undermined your lords temporal and spiritual, and you have resolved to destroy it. It is to this end, at least in part, that you now journey into dark and forgotten places in the bowels of the Bloodrise Mountains, seeking the long-lost treasures of reptilekind. In that ancient place, uncovered by kobolds who dug too deep, there lies the secret to destroying the demon…
(And, even more importantly, it is in this stones-swallowed sepulchre that you have good reason to believe there is a clutch of long-lost, pure-blooded dragon eggs, though their current status is unknown)
With you travel two long-serving members of your retinue: The Translator and The Cartographer, Silkscale-clan intelligentsia tasked to help you map and navigate these caverns and decipher whatever writings you may find within. Mindful of the dangers which dwell in dark place, you have also brought a small smattering of six kobolds—recent recruits, cowed by a fellow dragonblooded warrior, eager to earn favour in your eyes and familiar with these mountains and their secrets. A seventh of their race joins you, also: Hapo, the furtive kobold excavator whose arm you slew and whose treasure and status you stole, but whom you have offered clemency from your blade and your fiery breath if he leads to where he and his late friend (whom you slew) found the demon ring and the dragon eggs.
Before you plunge once more into the inner earth (and into adventure!), there is one more thing to attend to, however…
