>>5789964>>5789969>>5789971You watch with bated breath as turbolaser fire flies through space, impacting ships and ripping them apart. You see another acclamator, it’s starboard engine missing and holes all through its hull disintegrate in a hail of fire from a trio of venators. A pair of ARCs fly past the bridge, almost colliding with it. You’re wondering why they didn’t fire on you and destroy the bridge when an entire squadron of headhunters flies past, in hot pursuit of the pair of ARCs. You’re almost being overwhelmed by the sight of everything when you’re blinded by a sudden flash, and the entire ship shudders, forcing you to focus on your physical location. Were you hit?
>Was that-?“A venator to port. The Temeraire. It’s on the map.” Shade’s voice responds beside you. Quickly looking at the holotable, you see a rapidly flashing red signal beside your position before it disappears.
There’s so many ships there now, you can barely see what’s going on. They’re fighting at point-blank range, unleashing their full fury upon each other in an effort to utterly destroy the enemy. You’re in the middle of the fleets now, the centre of the storm, though a calm eye is the exact opposite of what you’re seeing. But the ship hasn’t taken any hits so far…
As you begin to hope you’ll get through the ship shudders continuously for a moment, and this time you don’t see any tell-tale flashes of a ship blowing up.
“We’re being targeted! Port deflector shields down to 80%!”
“I have ARC Squadrons coming up on our tail!"
“Sir! Venator class is moving into our trajectory! We need to redirect!”
Captain Tyro, to his credit, remains calm and gives out immediate orders to his men. You grip the holotable tightly as the ship tries to move its massive bulk, at least dodging a collision with a venator directly to your front. But it seems like your string of luck is over now as the ship shudders again and the officers scream out their reports to the captain.
