"Tell me about it" she says, as she rubs one of her wounds. "He had me fight some kind of... rabid animal he caught. Not a werewolf, because it dies when you stab it enough times with a normal dagger."
"What kind of creature was it?" You ask, while the guard seems flustered about being ignored. Paracelcus just waves him off, and then adds: "Looks kind of like a wolf, I suppose, but a werewolf is considerably less ragged than that thing."
"BOTH OF YOU! Keep this up, and you're both under arrest for disobeying an officer of the law!"
"What do you want, then?" Paracelcus says. "Do you want to arrest us for being kidnapped? I think we both know you can't hold a candle to Reynauld in a contest of arms if you want to try anything."
"I, uh.... I need to..."
Oh he doesn't actually know what he wants. Wonderful.
You answer it for him:
"Tell you what. You take claim for finding what the alchemist was doing. We interrogate him. We find out more about the werewolf problem, and I get at least a partial bounty out of this. You get to have a promotion for doing good work. Sound good?"
Marvin doesn't look so sure for a moment... adn then just nods sheepishly.
"O-okay. I mean... It's just that... T-the chief would yell at me if I, uh... yeah. If I arrest the alchemist. They have this deal going, but I... I guess this is too flagrant to ignore, right?"
The alchemist under your foot struggles for a moment, but you just push a little harder, until the guard finally catches on he should use those handcuffs. In the meantime, you check in the hatch for a moment, and see that there are two operating tables, and that the lad you captured along the road is still strapped in. There's an infusion kit right next to him, as well, though he's not getting infused, fortunately.
"Oh thank GOD! Please! I-I'm sorry I tried to steal from the alchemist, okay!? I just... I needed something for the road, is what I thought! H-he'd never notice!"
Paracelcus seems confused for a moment:
"Wait, you stole something? I thought he knocked us both out..."
"He, uh, he injected you with something and told me he'd melt the skin off my bones if I tried anything. B-because I took that spoon that was all silvery."
Paraculcus rubs her temples in annoyance as she hears it... but you sigh and release the boy. God, he's stupid.
"Come on, we're getting out of here."
You take a quick look at the dead creature in the bigger cell here, which you suppose is the thing that Paracelcus has to kill with nothing but a Kris.
It's... kind of like a dog, but the proportions are all wrong. The hind legs are far too long, and most of its fur looks ragged. The claws look too big to comfortably walk on, and the snout seems to be a bit... stunted, somehow.
"What the hell was that thing?"
"A golem he made... using some werewolf parts. Tried to transfer the curse unto dead flesh. It worked, up to a point, but it's feral and shouldn't be transmittable."
"He made you fight it?"
