Their airforce support also helped by throwing flashbangs from the air at entrenched positions before the army's smoke assaults, doubling the confusion among the enemy. The gangers didn't even notice the hovering heli until it was too late.
In the meantime, the prong headed northeast managed to secure the roads headed towards the financial and governmental districts, effectively preventing a flare of violence in those directions. While the army uses the same smoke assault tactic with great efficiency, the air assault snipers spotted some gangers on the rooftops with rifles - obviously preparing to ambush the army 'Percevejo' APCs on the barricade of overturned, burnt cars. The snipers easily dispatched this group, and the Percevejos just plows through the wrecks without any damage. As the army sweeps through the nearby buildings, it soon became clear why some of the gangers even dared to attack your troops - mortars and rocket launchers, in crates marked with Zayyine's seals. The report came right as Operation Favela Cookout comes to a close, the troops waiting on the border to the harbor district and the favela more or less pacified - your military made quite an impact that any surviving ganger would surely be demoralized afterwards.
