>>6150274You pulverize the skeleton’s head with an overhead strike, stunning it and stopping its incoming attack, before sending it flying away when your axe collides with its chest. The creature lands with a thud across the lab, skeletal limbs splayed out unnaturally. An unpowered hand still clutches onto its Steel Axe feebly. You stand there, beaming with pride and basking in your work. You knew it was just a cheap fake. After all, there was much more to you than just raw power, and may the Goddess help anyone who thought otherwise.
Suddenly, in a surprising display of vitality, the creature once again starts moving before your eyes. Its skeletal limbs begin shaking violently, before hopping onto one foot. The construct misses both a single leg and an arm, which had shattered upon landing with the floor. Even with the missing appendages and a split skull though, it appears to still be animated and perhaps even looking to continue the fight? You curse. You think to make a comment on the construct not knowing when to quit, but realize that this sort of behavior only makes sense given who it is modelled after.
The creature cocks its remaining arm back, holding the Steel Axe out. It begins to glow a bright blue, and it almost appears as if it intends to throw the weapon directly at you, empowered by the Crest of Indech.
You frown deeply. You were sure you couldn’t do that.
The skeleton’s single foot drives further into the ground, and it cocks its arm back, ready to toss the axe your way.
