Just then, you had a brilliantly simple idea! If the Shocker couldn’t throw punches at you, then that should eliminate his ranged capabilities, right?
But in order for you to snag both of his gauntlets, you’d have to wait for the perfect time.
And so, for the next minute or two, you did nothing but bounce around the theater and taunt him from afar.
“Are you sure you can see through that mask?” you asked, ducking under another shockwave. “I mean, the whole white eye thing is cool and threatening and all, but you haven’t managed to land a solid hit on me yet. Did you forget your contacts, or are you too embarrassed to wear your glasses?”
“Do you ever shut up!?” Shocker shouted, struggling to keep track of you.
“On request? Not very often, no.” you replied, trying not to show any hint of the panic you were feeling. If this went on any longer, then Shocker just might bring the whole house down!
Had to get this just right. Almost…
NOW!
Without hesitation, you shot a thick glob of webbing at your opponents hands, gluing them together and leaving him sounding rather flustered. Before he could adapt to this new situation, you attached a webline to his hands, leapt up to the light rigging and strung him up so that his feet were dangling off the ground. Feeling satisfied, you watched Shocker kicking and screaming in impotent rage with a smile on your face.
“There! That ought to hold y-y-y-y-y-y-y-!”
You couldn’t force yourself to finish the sentence. Intense vibrations were emanating from the Shocker’s gauntlets, traveling up the webline you’d created, and was now reverberating throughout the entire metal light rigging that you were perched on top of.
The result was an almost complete collapse of the structure, causing the lights to flicker and the entire setup to go lopsided. You couldn’t see too well from up here, but you had a feeling that your webbing wouldn’t be able to hold this guy for very long at this rate.
And just when you thought that it couldn’t get any worse, the lights went out entirely. For one single terrifying moment, everyone went quiet. And when the lights came back on, you were in no way pleased to see that it was all coming from Max. He was radiating light and buzzing with malicious intent. Every member of the Wild Pack was now backing away slowly, unsure of what to make of this.
Suddenly, multiple blinding spears of lights shot through the windows from every which direction, arcing towards Max and filling him with energy. The cable tether was now broken, and the insulating foam was burned away by the sheer intensity of it all.
Through shielded eyes, you spotted your knife being forced out of his leg by another burst of energy. It flew across the room and lodged itself into a nearby wall, still smoking at the hilt.
