“That’s, uuh… Embarrassing?” Marcela tries to break the awkwardness by saying something ill fitting. You’re starting to believe she never tried to soften the blow by taking her time to respond.
“I relate to her. At one my point in my life I blamed it all my problems on the things I ate and drink, then I blame myself for my lack of restraint; later I realize the complexity of my issues were far grander to be caused by just one thing in specific, instead it’s a mix of the societal injustices, structural failures and personal mistakes that made me the way I am and allowed me to move on.” Vanessa thinks she has a lot in common with a person who thinks cakes ruined her life.
“You were a borderline alcoholic, Vanessa. It’s different.” Ulrich shakes his head.
“Borderline?” You disagree on some details… “I feel for her, we’ll see how she is doing tomorrow. Now, I need to prepare for tomorrow’s challenge, it’s the real one.” You stand up and stretch.
“Sounds very exciting! Feel free to take anything you need from my kitchen.” Ulrich is glad to help once again.
“Ulrich, you’re starting to sound like Mr. Excitement!” Vanessa is talking about a Game show on TV. You can’t recall what it's about, but the host is pretty famous.
“I just used the word excitement, nothing more.” Ulrich doesn’t like being compared to the host of that show.
“Sheesh, stop impersonating him.” Marcela teases Ulrich, the rich guy looks up, all indignant – he can recognize when he’s being made fun of. “C’mon, Kobashi, we need to get ready!”
“Right!” You need to work a lot tonight to have this done…
You’ll need to work some details on this Ultimate Lovely Strawberry Cake…
“The duel is gonna be here, can we stay the night?” Marcela wonders. To sleep on an actual bed will be great.
“But of course, feel free to use the premises to your heart’s content! Now that we have an extra day, perhaps I can prepare the stage in a fun way. My mind is racing! I’ll be seeing you later, everyone, I have other businesses I must attend to.” Ulrich nods to his butler, probably to keep an eye on you all – then leaves.
Later that day, after you baked tomorrow’s cake, the Butler lets you know that Ulrich is planning on having 3 Judges decide the victor for tomorrow’s challenge. You, Ulrich and Professor Bombastus need to handpick one person each for the role of arbiter for tomorrow. If you don’t feel like choosing anyone, he’ll find one for you.
You asked if it could be anyone, and he says there are no restrictions, he’ll find whoever you choose.
