TalOS looked upon the man with a clinical eye. He did not need to think much about the matter itself, but it was the presentation of his answer which was the most pressing issue. What he said will become the philosophy of the Federation. A Casus Belli which shall be struck out against numerous worlds which will think just like this one.
“The reason that I struck you was because you are one casualty upon the journey of unity.” TalOS declared as he focused sharply upon the fellow.
Speaking those words the two Astartes who were carrying him spun around and presented their man before TalOS. It was done in such a way that the man was standing before TalOS, basking in the full glory that was the Fabricator General and their Father.
They wanted this man to know TalOS’s answer. They also wanted to know as well.
“W-we are just one casualty?” Fear quaked through his voice as he starred at TalOS in horror, “You see us as rodents!?”
“That is a comparable observation which I will not support. I see you as mankind.” The Dragon allowed his weight of words to be pressed down upon the man, “You are as flesh and blood a human as myself. Deviation between your genome and that of a standard human are within the acceptable boundaries that were set by the Genetors of Mars. You and your people are ideal forms of mankind.”
The man before him, who was likely just a simple politician or bureaucracy which served a mediocre life, could not comprehend the truth of the matter before him. To him TalOS felt the man was look at two worlds thinking that one cannot be compatible with the other.
After all, how can someone wreck so much destruction upon his fellow only to still see them as human. TalOS knew even in the minds of a few brothers there are some that would see traitors or foolish humans as below their subservient counterparts.
TalOS did not see them as such because they are that. Yes he does see them as Pegan to his Religion, fools who do not follow the Machine God and his Saints. Genetically they were human and with work they can become anything a human can. It was an understanding that TalOS had.
