>>5763419You worry for a minute, thinking you fucked up and are going to be kicked out, but the Chansey and their Trainer are non-puzzled. Chansey just brushes it off and keeps waiting until the Houndour tires itself. Once she lets go, Chansey seems to tell it something while offering an egg from her pouch. Houndour just growls in a defeated but accepting tone. Then Chansey starts to pat around her body while your canine consumes the contents of the nutritious-looking egg.
The nurse gets a bit closer to overlook Chansey’s examination, asking her questions about the state of her mon. Even though they don’t talk the same language both of them seem to understand each other almost perfectly. It’s quite impressive if you are honest.
[Nurse]: Oh, she’s a feisty one!
[ANON]: She?
[Nurse]: Yes, she’s a female. Pretty young as well.
The nurse asks you for details about the Houndour. Where you met her, if you knew about her living conditions and whereabouts before you picked her up. The most you know is that she was brought up by some sketchy Pokémon breeders who kicked her out to the streets some months ago. Since then, she’s been chasing and attacking unsuspecting people who cross her path, like you.
Houndour live and thrive in packs by nature. They are fiercely loyal to those they consider part of the pack, that’s why they can be incredibly dependable to their Trainers and the rest of their team, excelling in teamwork. It’s their nature, they can’t help but latch onto others and prioritize the group first. “Just like us, they are social creatures.”. Because of their temper, they can be quite dangerous for an inexperienced Trainer, but they are a great choice as a team member down the line.
But, your Houndour seems like a victim of abuse, from a young age.
Behind her fur are plenty of scars from lashes and bites, on her back, legs, and even some near her snout. She’s a fighter, and probably tried to resist, so they punished her and forced her to breed with stronger Pokémon that could forcefully make her submit.
Not only she’s in a state of malnutrition, but she is also too skinny. Her size is a bit smaller than the usual Houndour, she was most likely kept in a small cage and was forced to breed, being fed the bare minimum. Once she became too weak or too problematic, they threw her to the streets as she was no longer profitable. So, it makes sense she’ll be a bit weaker compared to other Houndour.
She exhibits some severe antisocial tendencies. Judging by her violent demeanor towards both random people and mons. She probably never formed a pack or connections of her own, if she had any offspring they were most likely sold off as soon as they hatched.
Even after being kicked out, she never tried to form or join a pack. This kind of antisocial behavior is a little worrying, it goes against its basic instincts. The distrust she feels is not one that will easily go away.
