We're a little asynchronous right now, apologies for any tonal whiplash> Ask questions (this gross centipede heart I forgot you had)> Trade eggs for furniture"So…centipede hearts."
Babs laughed. "Noticed it had lot of magic in it?"
"Sure, but it's not like it's going to stay good like that. Do I need to preserve it or something? Dunk it in vinegar?"
Babs chuckled. "Like a pickle!" She giggled.
"Hey! How else would I preserve it?"
"Smoke it? Salt it?"
"You are an ass."
Babs shrugged and continued grinning. "Bottle it with water and hit it with vitae matching its level, or as high as you can tell anyway. That'll preserve the magic at least. Or wrap it up in paper or a bag and do the same if you figure you’ll want it for a smoke spell. I’d dry it out in your smoker after you enchant it if you do that, but it’s not required, just…less messy.”
“You can do the same thing with the eggs right?”
“Yeah, if you want to hold onto them for a long time. I’d just make them into mana potions myself. Offer still stands by the way.”
Mel lifted an eyebrow. “Highway robbery has me a little hesitant.”
Babs grinned toothily. “Tell you what, I’ll even throw in the golem.”
“Golem? Big stone statue thing?”
“Not…quite. Little stubby thing. Very slow, very persistent, very tough. I prefer faster minions, but they’re pretty useful in the right situations. You could have it haul things back from Joe’s cave for you, carry firewood. Practically a steal for three eggs.”
“Two.” Mel folded her arms.
Babs narrowed her eyes, pouting a little. “Fine! Should have ran the thing down myself. Here,”
Babs dug a small tightly wrapped paper packet from a pocket. “Put three drops of blood, your blood, on it or it won’t know who its master is. Then just light it on fire, you can throw it right in the fire if you want, or a torch is fine since it’s just a little one.”
