>>5658087>“Do you believe we may encounter another Sage out there?”“It’s certainly possible. They won’t just let all the work they’ve put into corrupting the Empire go to waste. If we do find any Agarthans out there, you can be sure I’ll be close by to strike them down.”
>“I suppose I can be at least grateful for at least that.” You sigh.“Take what you can get.” Anemone says, walking towards you. “I hope you know what you are doing. I’ve grown somewhat fond of you, Blair. And I’m relying on you to help me root out the rest of Shambhala. I cannot afford you dying here. So, it’s imperative that you succeed, no matter the cost.”
>“Can I rely on whatever Eulalia is cooking up in there?” You gesture towards the tent where the Agarthan is hard at work.“Not yet.” Anemone says. “The state of that spearhead you gave her was horrific to say the least. She’s still at work reconstructing the shaft, as well as putting her own finishing touches on the blade. You won’t have it in time for Gronder I’m afraid. Rest assured though that Eulalia is Arcadia’s foremost expert on blacksmithing. With her at the helm, whatever she cooks up is sure to spell doom for your enemies. All the more reason you must succeed and come back to us alive.”
>“I’m thankful for her support. How is your study into Diogenes’ research going?”Anemone shrugs. “Slow. The madman wasn’t taking me into consideration when documenting what he was up to. Still, I’ve come across some interesting findings in his notes. Apparently, the Empire had discovered the existence of two of the Four Saints, Indech and Maculi.”
>“Four Saints?” You ask quizzically. “You mean the ones that fought alongside Saint Seiros against the King of Liberation? Wouldn’t they be thousands of years old by now?”“Assuming they possessed the blood of the Nabateans, such a feat would hardly be considered difficult for them. Diogenes’ notes indicate that their location had been discovered from secret documents retrieved during the Empire’s occupation of Garreg Mach and deciphered by their allies in the Orthodox Church. The Empire succeeded in slaying the two of them and harnessed their blood for use in Diogenes’ Crest research. That would explain how that bandit woman managed to acquire the Crest of Indech.”
>“Slaying two of the Four Saints…whoever was capable of such a feat would have to be incredibly strong.”“Diogenes’ notes are scant on just who committed the deed. But like I said, I’ve only managed to scratch the surface of what he’d written.”
>You sigh. “Very well, I’ll leave you to it then.”Anemone nods. “Remember what I said. I’m counting on you, Blair. Don’t die.”
You depart from the Agarthan’s tent. Night has fallen. There are a few Blackwings still moving around, seemingly unable to sleep. You approach:
