“Agreed.” you reply, telepathically opening a channel to the owner of Dreadzone, Gleeman Vox. “Hey, Vox. You and I need to talk.”
“Ahh, General Karn. Good to hear from you, it's been awhile.” he replies, his mind just as slimy as he is in person. But the telepathic link lets his ki stand out to your ki sense, locking on to it and teleporting to him. One moment you and Meloka are on Planet Yardrat, the next the two of you are standing in front of his desk. With a small toy of Chaya standing on his desk, a detail sticking out to you immediately. It's roughly painted, but the eyes stand out as they glow red and yellow just like your daughter's own do, right hand raised in triumph with a smug grin. “Good to see you. I take it you're here after what happened?”
“Yes. I know you have video of her breaking down. I want it deleted.” you reply, staring him down. “I want ALL copies of that video deleted.”
“Hrmmm, that's a hard ask, General. That video could be worth millions.” he replies, his one flesh hand going to his chin as he swivels slowly in his chair, thinking aloud. “I can't just get rid of it for nothing. Seeing that their idol is still mortal could draw quite a lot of popularity to her brand.”
“What do you want?” you reply, cutting through his meandering words. You know he's a businessman, if he thinks that the video is valuable, you'll have to make him an exchange for it. Value for value, as it were. “In exchange for deleting all copies of that video and keeping your people quiet about what they saw, what do you want?”
“Now we're talking. As it happens, I've got a couple, let's just say, <span class="mu-i">problematic</span> contestants that need taking care of.” Vox answers, a gleam in his eye as he steeples his fingers before him. “They're powerful, but let's just say... Uncooperative. And, given what happened today, I doubt Chaya will be making it to her fight to take them on and, let's say, <span class="mu-i">remove</span> these problems. What do you say?”
