"Yeah. Look, there's no active treatment going on. It's all just monitoring equipment."
You point into the room. When Doc was fixing your leg, and when Squid was trying to help Bella, you remember them pulling out electromagnetic field generators to resculpt vertex points. No such tools are present by his bedside. You can break them without actually injuring him or interfering with his recovery. You still feel quite bad for bombing a hospital, but this route has the least amount of risk for you.
"Activating."
Fr1tz.app detonates. The effect is immediate, causing all his electronics to fritz out, as per the name. Screens projecting his avatar go dark. His heartrate monitors spike rapidly, their screens filling with monochromatic static. His bed suddenly flattens, dropping him straight onto his back from his slightly inclined position. The motion wakes him up, and he immediately begins breathing heavily. You duck out of the doorway before the man can notice you.
"Hey- Help! HEEELP!"
He cries for the incoming bots as you slip back into the halls and return to Ryan's position. The patrol is still several minutes away, so you hope he doesn't clamber out of bed or do anything rash.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-b">"Hi. Whatcha doin?"</span></span>
<span class="mu-s">"Figlio di puttana!"</span>
You flinch, whipping your head around to stare at the speaker. Your pulse spikes, matching the erratic whirling of your victim's heart monitor. For a second, you think you've been caught.
"Don't- Don't scare me like that! What the hell, Pulsemon?!"
<span class="mu-s">"Dude!"</span>
Your little green ally rubs the back of his head sheepishly.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-b">"Sorry. I was just wondering what you were doing all alone."</span></span>
"Causing a distraction. Come on, let's go back to the meetup point."
He totters along behind you, as you leave the screaming patient behind.
