This place is a glitchy hellscape that you can't get a single read on. If you start a fight, who knows what'll happen. Fighting that thing isn't an option.
"Okay. Got any ideas?" You whisper to the others. You can't really see a way to sneak past this thing. It is blocking the only way forward.
Lex squints at the flesh and metal amalgamation. "I don't think it can see us."
Huh? You blindly try SIGHTJACKING it to see if he's right. It's pure pitch black - No signal in its eyes.
Anderson raises a finger to his mouth. He digs into your pocket and pulls out a wad of quarters from your pocket.
He tosses one down the hallway. It lands right by BELNOL's (as you'll call it from now on) feet. It immediately smashes the ground with one of its fists. A four inch deep hole is punched right into the ground. Okay, yeah, you're not fighting it.
Everyone gets the hint. Lex takes the lead (just in case someone fucks up) with Anderson right behind him. Your party shuffles slowly towards BELNOL. No one wants to make a single damn sound if they can afford it.
You notice something off about it when you get close enough (about twenty feet or so) to get a good look at it. The two heads share the same distant, lost expression. It's hard to sense if these two are even alive or if it they're being puppeteered by the drugs and machinery stapled to them.
The smog constantly pumping from the exhausts on their back floods your lungs. You nearly enter a coughing fit but Maruyama quickly covers your mouth.
Your group passes right by BELNOL with no sign of it being aware of your presence.
A few seconds later, its fist smashes into the wall where your head used to be.
Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck did it sense you somehow-
>48! PEP PILL ZETA and 1 of 6 TOTAL SUNSTONE CHARGES CONSUMED!
"...FALSE READING." A digitized copy of your own voice gurgles out of one of the heads.
Your group picks up the pace real fast after that. You don't slow down until BELNOL is far, far behind you - Which isn't hard since the hallway shifts into something completely unrecognizable only a few seconds later. All you can see around you is blurry smudges and colors.
[ANOMALOUS ABILITIES] This isn't intentional. You can tell the Spooks would probably want this finetuned if they could.
[SEEKER OF THE CITY] A combination of excess anomaly energy and the reversed signal distorting the anomalous energy has resulted in local reality failure.
[PERSON OF INTEREST] Guernican Perspectives was likely LITERALLY part of the floor you're on. Damaging and suppressing it may be a cause of this reality collapse.
[UNSTABLE RESOLVE] BUT FOR NOW? YOU HAVE TIME TO TALK TO YOUR FAMILY.
"So. Otto." You haven't really NEEDED to talk to him on any personal level before. He's your boss. Even after everything that's happened, it feels weird to be...buddy buddy out of the blue? "Been a long since you've had to do somethin' like this, huh?"
"There's a fucking reason I hired people do things FOR me."
