>>5186370"What you staring at, fool?" Hyde taps you with his slingshot for checking Jodi out. For some reason you always go into slow motion when observing Ods and don't notice how long you've been staring at people.
"Heh, sorry... Was wondering if it's going to be a guy or a gal. When is the baby due?"
"I have a feeling that he'll come out tomorrow! He's been kicking there for way too long, but that's just a mother's intuition." Jodi responds, feeling her child inside.
"Wouldn't it be safer for you to deliver him down there, where there are more people around?"
"And let a bunch of drunken hooligans have their way with Jodi? No thanks! I've seen enough of this place to know that the people who offer help in dire needs always come with second intentions. Nothing in this world goes for free, be it in money or morals, you gotta pay. Plus with that ol age of darkness thing they keep talking about, I can't go around traveling with a baby on me, might as well live in peace where people will have to go out of their way to reach me." Hyde raises a fair point, though you're not sure if he realises that could also apply to him.
"Alright then, what are we having for dinner?"
"Some kind soul from the village gave us a large piece of lamb for us to eat, there's enough servings for you and your friend outside, Why don't you go tell him about the food while we get the table ready?" Jodi stands up and slowly marches towards the pots and pans on the kitchen.
"Thanks, I'll give him the signal."
"Hey Guts, they're serving dinne-" You exit the house to ask if Guts wants to enter, but you see him fighting a large amount of monsters climing the mountain. With the moon appearing in the distance, it made way for his brand to start bleeding as a large torrent of darkness circled around the mountain.
"I thought I said you'd be safe inside the carriage!" You look around for your spear before approaching the swordsman.
"It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it." Guts doesn't even turn around to talk, focusing on a wave of armored skeletons climbing uphill.
"Bold of you to think he'd listen to anybody but himself." Puck points out his stubborness.
There are over 40 skeletons on the way, and even if Guts makes quick work of them, the noise is bound to attract at least one of the two animal monsters residing in this place. So it's best to take care of it as soon as possible.
Looking over at the horizon, you see an even larger fog of dark energy circling around the lower ground before spreading in the direction of Albion. Something is bound to happen there in the near future.
You just wanted to sit down and eat some damn meat...
