Thank you for playing this Space Monke Quest sidequest! While I'm not especially proud of this thread, I do hope you found some enjoyment in this prequel to the rise of Akule the Unspeakable and the Hegemony.
Really quick, I'd like to take a moment to explain my thought process and also apologize for the (admittedly) poor timing of this sidequest. Essentially my original idea for this "Unspeakble" story was for it to be like a special "easter egg" or secret installment of Monke Quest- something you got to play if and when someone from the thread correctly deduced Akule's family lineage. The original plan was to sprinkle little clues here and there, in relation to Maktana and of Akule's origin being a big mystery that would take several threads for someone to piece the clues together. Unfortunately, due to one bonus image I posted, it revealed this "secret" way too early. As such, I was put into the position of either doing the sidequest next after Part 6, or putting it off when it would be less relevant to the overall discussion. I realize now that doing the sidequest first was a big mistake. Checking the archives, I realize it has now been six real world months since we made our last Supreme change- and as someone in the QTG Discord put very well- it's basically been 3 "experimental" threads in a row, with B&G, Chapter 6, and this thread all with very slow form and character driven narratives instead of the larger scope and faster timescale of the mainline civ threads. I didn't realize quite how long this thread would take either, and fully planned to knock it out in two or three weeks, but then felt I wasn't giving players enough choice- but the filler choices weren't very meaningful anyway! It wasn't very well planned compared to my other threads, and for that I feel it fell pretty short. Out of all the threads I think this one was the most frustrating and boring to run too, especially at the end.
I will be eschewing the tradition of answering or asking questions at the end of the thread to take some time off instead. I hope this thread's poor reception didn't scare too many veteren players away- as I'd kind of like to start fresh with Chapter 7 and put all this behind us. Hopefully a return to form and finally fucking finishing the Yuan'Tul plotline will breathe some new life into the thread.
But anyways, thanks again for playing and I hope to see you again soon.
