> Sort and index the recovered books from Bird Valley
Mel sorted out the plunder from her exploration, potion, wands, books, rusted trinkets. She lifted up one of the rusted bits of metal to show to Babs, but her fellow mage had vanished into her own tent. Setting the bauble down she started working through the heaps of rotting books.
Four piles. Useless destroyed rot in the first, what looked like personal journals and notes in the second. The third shared a curving script and fanciful illuminated lettering, the few front covers that survived partially intact revealed the title: Initiate Mysteries of Ava: Goddess of Storms. The fourth heap shared a plain printed style, and an equally plain title: The Path of Worms.
The remainder of the time was spent separating pages, drying sections in front of the fire, trimming rot, and trying to piece together enough pages in order to form cohesive sections. Copies of each book were fairly numerous, but the damage to each one was pretty severe. Still, she was starting to get an idea of each book’s layout.

As she put the last bits of paper in order her golem trundled into camp, shoving a heavy stone cask in front of it, grinding a smooth path all the way. Bab’s head popped out of her tent. “You know, I told Joe that wasn’t going to be enough to keep people out of it, but since he didn’t take it with him I guess he wasn’t that worried.”
