“Ancestral tunnels, but those are crawling with Skaven, Orks and Undead these days.” The native Runesmith answered them, “Be quite a bloody path you need to make for yourselves to even get to Marrienburg.”
Adok glanced towards Lucian, the Black Knight being too honest not to show the sudden flare of anticipation upon his face. The mention of the undead was not something the Dwarf had told him before, and now they were given interest, “Well fancy me for bringing a Knight of the Umgi’s Death God with me then, that's this fellow Lucian. But I never heard of the undead in the tunnels before. Are they the reason you are building so many weapons?”
“That's a Runelord’s son for you, aye.” Answered the Runesmith as he pointed at the bolts on his table, “It started about three months ago I think. First it was only a few of them, then these last few weeks the monsters had been coming every night to try and break down our gates. Most of them approach from above ground, but some have been spotted trying to get around the tunnels.”
“If they find a way to get through the tunnels, then they’ll swarm us just like the Skaven do.” Adok declared with a firm worry in his voice, “Not good, not good at all.”
There was a warmth in his chest, a burning desire that Lucian felt anticipating a battle. This was not however from the Rune, but his own blood running hot upon hearing the undead. The fact was simple, where the undead walked there was surely someone controlling them.
If something was controlling them, then that something could be a Vampire. Perhaps even [i:lit]thee[/i:lit] vampire.
“Where are they? The Undead!” Lucian shouted with agitation in his voice, something that was admittedly rude for a Noble to be doing to someone of such high ranks.
Yet he was talking to a Dwarf, who gave him a smile, “Its night now, so they are getting pelted by the arrows of the Warriors and cannon of our Engineers right now at the gate.”
