>>5735504“Think back to your brother. There was a man that defeated two Saints by his own efforts. He was someone who was feared across the realm as the strongest Wyvern Lord. The addition of the Crest of Indech should have made him only that much more powerful. And yet, when I watched your fight, he failed to kill not only you, but Ingrid as well. I believe that you humans place too much emphasis on these gifts of the Goddess. The Crest made Rex overconfident. It led him to think he could defeat both you and Ingrid by himself, and it resulted in the loss of his life. You’ve already accomplished so much by virtue of your own skill. Why stoop to some dubious surgery now?”
Anemone made a good point. If there was anything that had contributed to Rex’s downfall, it was his own hubris. He believed that the Crest of Indech had made him invulnerable, and rushed into a battle that was not as easy as he’d assumed. Still though, you couldn’t shake the feeling though that there were still plenty of tough opponents left to face. The rest of the Hellwings certainly had a bone to pick with you, including Kate. Then there were the remainder of the Seven Sages. And finally, there was even the possibility you might have to face off against the Count.
