In exchange, the Marines offer up a rudimentary currency, the delicious salt licks, or their services as self-styled Servants of the Seas, in the vein of the Beast’s Landsknechts, or Servants of the Land. Now, if the Marines could convince the other Children that they, indeed, do have other duties to their Beast….
