In this quest, we go through DBZ but every battle beat is determined by a dice roll, and it's up to you to explain/justify how that beat happened.
Power-level are is what you want them to be, anything can happen e.g. Kuririn can kill Freezer.
So, here is how it works, I give you a "chapter" prompt, in which I describe what is happening, and who is fighting, and I roll for the fighters.
Based on these fighters' rolls, YOU explain how that beat happened. A chapter ends when fighters from one side have been killed or retreated.
The battle has three phases:
>Protagonistic domination (heroes are winning)
>Stalemate
>Antagonistic domination (villains are winning)
The phase and fighter's side determine what the doll does.
During stalemate, the outcome is the same for everyone, which is:
>12:Unlock new power-up/transformation: Phase changes
>10-11: Reveal a new technique: Phase changes
>8-9: Ally joins joins the battle
>6-7: Nothing happens
>4-5: Retreat from battle
>2-3: Get incapacitated
>1: Get killed/absorbed
During the dominating phase, if the fighter is part of the dominating side, roll instead do:
>4-12: Nothing happens
>2-3: Retreat from battle
>1: Get incapacitated
During the dominating phase, rolls of losing fighters are:
>12: Unlock new power-up/transformation: Reverse phase
>11: Reveal a new technique: Set phase to stalemate
>9-10: Ally joins joins the battle
>7-8: Retreat from battle
>4-6: Get incapacitated
>1-3: Get killed/absorbed
If a fighter gets incapacitated, the next turn their roll will be:
>10-12: Recover and join the fight
>7-9: Continue incapacitated
>5-6 Retreat from battle
>1-4 Get killed/absorbed
