Here’s what we’re going to do.” You begin. “I’ll summon a water clone to do the talking, so they’ll be focussed on it instead of me in case something goes wrong. I need to be there as well so I can gather some intel about them and their group. If I get more information, we’ll have better judgment on the situation. If I touch the back of my neck, that’ll be the signal to attack. If I don’t do that, it means hold off for one reason or another, either because we’re going with Masami’s idea, or because things are just working out a different way.”
“... Alright, I can accept that. But you need to accept this: I’ll be watching, and if I decide I don’t like what’s happening, I might not hold back. I don’t see the utility in playing these chancy games. If you do something reckless I’m putting a stop to it.” Naoki says.
“Fair.”
Masami’s face has grown a bit pale, but she gives you a nod.
You approach Kin and firmly tell him that the three of you will be scouting ahead for a bit. He doesn’t argue.
Your squad quickly finds itself rushing through the branches of the surrounding trees. Eventually the three of you come near the river a 30 minute walk north of your previous position, cleared much faster with your ninja speed.
The scenario is as follows: You’re lurking at the edge of the forest, just before the trees start clearing out in the leadup to a short wooden bridge that spans a small river, your estimate is that it’s about 40 feet wide.
7 bandits lurk in the vicinity. It seems that there was once a legitimate toll booth here, long abandoned but somewhat restored by these people. The toll booth is too small to accommodate the 7 of them, so there’s a small camp clustered around it.
As for the seven bandits, they span a wide swathe of personalities and looks, some more typical of what you expected bandits to look like than others. You quickly note them down and give them their own special little names for your own mental reference.
1. Daggers. A short, wiry man with daggers. He looks lethargic and has a hood drawn.
2. Bow. A man with a wool hat and short bow. He has brown hair and his eyes have a perceptive gleam.
3. Fats. A large, fat man with a kanabo club.
4. Girl. A spindly and slightly nervous looking girl with a short sword.
5. Old Man. An older man, unarmed but with a steely look in his eye.
6. Scar. An adult woman with red hair and an angry scar on her face who wields a chain.
7. Knuckles. A muscular man with brass knuckles.
