Things seemed somewhat normal to the man walking towards TalOS, until he was caught into the Pariah field that TalOS was releasing into the room. His eyes shot up in horror upon TalOS as he took a single step back. TalOS was suppressing it, which was the reason the man did not feel his presence while outside the room. The Blackstone Fortress also helped in this, keeping making any who felt TalOS feel him at only human levels of Pariah.
The issue there was that even mortal pariahs are lynched because the people fear them.
“F-Fabricator General TalOS.” The man gave a quick bow as he tried his damnest to keep back the fear within his voice, “It is… my honor to stand before you on behalf of t-the Araneus Continuity.”
As he raised his head to face TalOS again his fear was refreshed with a vengeance. TalOS felt pity for the man but those reserves of pity were small. After all, TalOS warned his fellow not to do this. However it was human reason to not allow such a suspicious thing to go by challenge.
“I am honored to be before you here today as well. Your history is quite the fascinating one. To unite under the Engineers of your people and fight an ever present battle against the Orks, I can see parallels to you and the Priests of Mars.” TalOS told the man while trying to keep the terror to a minimum, “If you feel uncomfortable, we can resume this over Vox.”
“No, I will not do that!” The man barked as the man tried to refocus his vision upon TalOS. It was obvious that he was fighting a losing battle in this instance, “We the Araneus Continuity have take in your deal into consideration and find that we-!”
TalOS’s shook his head while being tempted to rub his eyes. The man’s fear of the news he wanted to give to TalOS would normally be a normal counter offer but his fear was so great that he could not give it. They wanted to ally with the Imperium instead of becoming a subject of it. This, to TalOS’s understanding, was unacceptable. How TalOS knew this, well he already took the Machine Spirit of their flagship the moment it came into system. He knew everything that they were doing, and was able to disable the entire craft with a thought.
As for the counter offer it would be unacceptable to the Imperium. These people would be non-compliant and making them into an ally would mean their technology would not be within the hands of the Mechanicum. That was unacceptable.
They were a Technocracy, and one which had many machines the Mechanicum had. Because of this fact TalOS knew they would not become vassals through means of giving their nobility benefits in exchange for that tech. They will not accept vassalage, at least to TalOS.
>Let Dorn take a crack at it, maybe he can get something from this
>Declare war upon them, might as well be forthright.
>Have them leave, for they will be swept up once TalOS rendezvous with Dorn.
