>>6311376Shea was hiding up above in the trees, of that you were sure. But it was as Saoirse said. The girl was a master at hiding her presence. Even when taunting you, it was as if her voice was coming from all around. You didn’t think she was standing still, but rather maneuvering around the trees and constantly changing her position.
“Bee sting?” Shea says, her voice cracking with insult. “These arrows are made from the most sacred groves in Brigid! Insulting them is to insult all my ancestors! Foul ogre! If you are so sure of yourself, then why don’t you stand still and eat this next one!?”
Somehow, you had a sinking suspicion that being hit by this next arrow would hurt, and quite badly at that. But you had to find a way to catch Shea so that you could fight back, and getting hit might be the only way to uncover her location. Your mind starts racing through your options.
You had one charge left of the Crest of Indech. You could allow yourself to be struck by Shea’s arrow, and then counter using the Crest. You still had your trusty Iron Bow. Shea might be a better shot, but even she wouldn’t be about to do much if you resorted to using your Crest.
The second alternative you think of is to simply burn down the entire jungle. This entire place looked like it would go up in smoke with just one charge of your Crest of Macuil, and a few Elfires to feed the blaze. Shea would have no more trees to hide in if they all went up in flames. Doing so might have unforeseen consequences though. After all, it may be hard to find this floor’s warp panel if you had to do so in the midst of an inferno, and while your friends were still dealing with the Floor Guardian. Either way, time was ticking until Shea fired at you, and you needed to act quick.
