“Talk over lunch, of course. At a more private location as well.” You clarify.
“Do you want me to wheel you around like this…?” Your perturbed teacher looks at your steel limbs.
“And share your food too, please.” You’re certain that she brought enough food for two or even three people! Too bad Ichie left…
“……….Give me a sec, I’ll go get my lunch box.” Nina absentmindedly goes back into the teacher’s office for her stuff. This entire day must’ve been quite a shock for her.
You look through the window as you wait, the beautiful native toucan rests on the tree outside, a leaf flies off through the sky pushed by the breeze – the summer vibes are rapidly approaching.
“Let’s see, I’m going to…” Nina returns with her lunch box in hand, she hesitates for a moment before placing it over your feet. She assumes you can’t hold it. “There you go. Now, um, how do I do this?” She doesn’t know how to push the dolly without making you fall off.
“Just angle it towards you. Try not to go overboard.” You instruct.
“Like this?” Nina grabs the handles and slowly follows your instructions.
“Exactly!” You cheer your teacher with the roles reversed momentarily!
“You’re heavier than I thought.” Nina admits. “I shouldn’t carry you far away.”
“Oh, yeah, I gained some muscle mass.” You slowly wiggle your eyebrows.
“That’s great to hear. Is that why you’re depleted?” Nina makes the connection. The concern from before is wearing off.
“E-yup!” You nod.
“You don’t have to push yourself this much. I’m still here to help you.” Nina believes you’re going through some grueling training to save the world.
“That’s why I’m here.” You smirk. Nina liked that answer.
Nina brings you to the specialized Home Economics Classroom since it’s often empty. She arranges everything on the table for lunch. Your teacher puts your needs over hers by focusing on feeding you until you’re full since you can’t do it on your own.
“It’s delicious, Nina! I love it!” You’re a liar. It’s just fine for your hefty standards. But no one will know that… ever! You do like the tea though.
“You know me, it’s always homemade!” Nina loves having her food praised. One compliment was all you needed to break her shell-shocked exterior! She dances in place without thinking out of joy. “Now it’s my turn to chow down.”
“While you do what you do best, I need to bring this up.” You bring some gravity to the conversation. “It’s about Trent. He wants you to ease up a little, you know? To be a little more chill.”
“Chill? In what way? I tried a more casual approach and could tell he wasn’t fond of it.” Nina doesn’t fully understand. She really tried to be friendly, it kinda breaks your heart…
