“Hey, you two, need a lift?” The window drops down to show the driver peeking out. It’s probably one of the scariest people you’ve ever seen. Like the kind of person that people warn you about when teaching you about stranger danger.
“Yes, ciivy! Could you take us to the Grand Hospital?” Vanessa knows the situation is too dire for her to be picky.
“The Grand Hospital? That’s exactly where we’re going! Hop in, you two! UhuHUHUUHUuhuuhhuuUHUUuh!!!” That’s the creepiest laugh you’ve ever heard. You two approach. “One of you will have to sit next to the kids...”
“I’ll do it, thank you very much.” You act politely. There’s a girl and a… kid with a mask on. You can’t tell the gender. They both look straight out of a horror novel’s illustration. “Hey there, kids!”
“Hey there, mister…!” The masked child is very friendly. “Woah, you’re almost as tall as my uncle!”
“…Hey.” The girl hides behind her sibling.
You and Vanessa introduce yourselves to them, and thank them for their kindness.
“Nice to meet ya! Name’s Furious Calamity, call me Fury. Those cute little nightmares are Katastrophic and Lingering. They go by Kata and Lin.” The evil scientist man introduces the entire family. “I’m taking these two to have some quality time with their favorite uncle at the morgue.”
“M-Morgue…?” Vanessa doesn’t know how to feel about this. She likes to hear about odd individuals, but interacting with them is a cause of concern for her.
“Don’t worry, he ain’t dead yet! UhUhUhUhUUuhhuh…!” Furious jokes and the entire family laughs as well, giving you a chill down the spine. Vanessa looks at you like trying to look at someone who’s not inherently scary.
“Are you two siblings?” You ask the girls because if you continue talking to Fury, you think you’ll lose it.
“Nope, cousins! And she lives next door!” Lin points at Kata, who’s too shy to say anything. “We’re like best buddies!”
“Mhm.” Kata nods slowly without trying to make eye contact.
“That’s great! It’s always nice to have family close by.” You nod. The girls seem to like you a little now.
