The Halls of the Imperial Palace were large and certainly could not be described as empty. Upon the walls were collections of art from all stages of humanity’s development from a nascent cave dwelling race to one which dominated the galaxy. It was a magnificent showing of what mankind had become.
Upon the floors were numerous people of both the Astartes and of standard man. Even a few adepts of the Mechanicum were present within the halls as they too now had a voice within the coming proceedings.
The cliches that were forming about the place were numerous, but there was a clear distinction between each of the groups that were present. At one side of the room was the Astartes, many of them cousins who had fought with one another in the deepest darkest reaches of either Terra or the Galaxy at each other’s side. Each of them holding an experience and a temperment equal to one another which allowed them to speak with the other in ease.
Across from them were the humans, Generals who fought alongside the Emperor during the unification of Terra and who were also in command of the Mortal Auxiliary who fought where the Astartes were not needed. Ever since the times of the Terran Unification however these men found themselves less and less needed for the Astartes were starting to outnumber them.
There was a last group, a small one, of which Transhuman, Mortal, and Machine all came together in their own discussions. They were of the Federation, many of them Auxiliary who had finally been given the chance to meet up with the colleagues from the heart of their Empire within an Empire. In a place like this, with so few of them here, the barriers that kept them from talking to one another were broken down due to the need of socializing.
Occasionally there would be either the Astartes from one side of the room or a general from the other who came to meet with this group. The Astartes found themselves with the Proelitor, whose experience was closest to what they had. The humans found either the less augmented Priests or the Knights to be their conversationalists.
In the end this union of forces was unique and forced upon the Federation at times like this. When the conversations and deals were finished they would all report their findings to their Primarch just like all of these people would. At least with TalOS, those who were not of his bloodline could expect him to actually listen to their calls, deals, and pleas.
