There is certainly at least some likelihood to the Necrons being one of their life seed results. If the Old Ones of 40k were anything like the Fantasy Slaan they were humanoid.
My theory is that at least, all *humanoid* shaped lifeforms were generated from the same base genetic building blocks that the Old Ones seeded everywhere. This is why so many races are vaguely humaoid. Orks, Tau, Eldar, Necrontyr, Kroot, and so on. Divergent Evolution so to speak.
Converge evolution wouldn't really explain it (on earth, if anything, quadrupeds are the most prominent lifeform not bipeds)
In fact it's more correct to say that humans are curiously similar to the Eldar in form than the other way around. Just being a bit stockier, and with rounded ears.
