Predators often rely on remembering the routes these creatures take, as they are an easy meal despite tasting pretty bad. Jellies that lived in these large packs ended up with soft tentacles that were useful for multiple purposes. Creatures deeper within the pack would use these appendages to push back against neighbors pushing into them too tight, this reduced the number of deaths from crushing. Another use came into play on the outer rim of the super schools where danger from predators was the highest, the 'arms' are used to wrap around and hold onto their neighbors, this helps prevent them from being separated from the pack even if they are bit.
