“Not all on the same note.” It sounded closer to a laugh from Geralt, “And there is no other authority I can pray towards to amend that. Truly the world still has problems then.”
“There are a great many happening as we speak.” Lucian said as he pointed towards the south, “In my homeland, Bretonnia, there is something brewing amongst those lands. After I had finished my quest for Grimidal I had turned to face down a vampire from the Von Carstein family. She had been using the mayhem caused by Grimidal to seek out the Lizardmen temple and to subjugate the people of these lands.”
“A Vampire?” The man sounded a little confused but then nodded, “I thank you for killing her, but why bring her up?”
“Her kind are causing us problems in Bretonnia. I wonder if their kind are behind all these Norscan raids. Perhaps their God Nagash is preparing the world for an invasion from the afterlife.” Lucian suggested as he tightened his grip, “I need men, King Geralt. We need men to defend both Bretonnia and the world from these monsters.”
Upon those words the Knight could see the face of the king darken and twist not in anger, but a sadness, “Lucian, I know that Albion owes you a debt that we can never recover. You shall have the men but I do not know if we can get them to Bretonnia.”
“You speak of Mann’s monster?” Lucian asked to confirm.
“It was my Father’s mistake and for it, he lost his life.” The King said as he shook his head, “If you have a way to deal with the great Leviathan who hunts all down I shall give you men. I cannot however give you men only for they to die.”
