The places that aren’t burnt through are either coated with half-burnt clothes or rubble, several of which demonstrate Boleski’s attempts at trying to fashion a shirt he could fit his wings into.
You don’t really see the point if his acid will burn right through it anyways, but it doesn’t seem like there’s a better way to pass the time in this dingy, musty-smelling apartment.
“What have you been up to lately?” You ask, shoving aside some rubble through one of the holes with your foot, and, although you know he’s ditched Maranzano Jr. for good, you’re sure he’s been up to more than just that.
The question hangs in the air, and Boleski takes a moment to think that over, bushy eyebrows furrowing in consideration as he mulls over your question.
"I leave Maranzano. Tell him to fahk you and run.” He finally tells you, and there’s a ghost of a smile on his face when he says this. “Life hard. Not getting food, not getting pill. But I am free man, so life is better.”
From beneath your mask, sharp teeth worry against your lip as the dilemma here becomes glaringly obvious; because Boleski had told you himself that he couldn’t even function without his pills.
Mentally searching for a way to phrase your question, your concern must have shown on your face as Boleski seems to take notice of your slight dismay, realizing just what his words entailed.
“Ah, <span class="mu-i">kurwa,</span> everything okay.” He clarifies, pointing to his head with a finger. “I find Heal-woman to get what I need. Sometimes around, sometimes not. Not <span class="mu-i">sto procent…”</span> He dips back into Polish. “But everything good. Not too much problem, okay?”
Better still, Boleski’s been in contact with the Healer, making it all-the-more easy to find her when the time comes. However, as much as you want to jump right into asking about the Healer and her whereabouts, your mind flits to another question you’ve had.
