So, the strange magical disease happened... when was it now? Two months ago? Olin perished soon after.
The next page follows a depressing trend of the boy being hunted down by this group of older bullies and beaten to a degree that, at least, didn't stop him from writing. He kept his training and changed his school time for learning theology after learning the alchemist of the city left. Everything lined up perfectly with Aryel's long explanation about his apprentice's reservations.

Strong enough prayers can send your memories into the Web. I'll do that. A knight sometimes needs help from the Good Mother. The Aegis... I wanna learn it.
Aryel told me he is not worthy of it, I think he's scared to try.
Strange stuff is happening at night in the village, more often than usual.
Branka is loud, irritating, unreasonable, but not bad. Fluffy one let me pet her, I really want a dog now. Old lady snake struggles with her garbage, so I do it. She really likes to talk. She lived in Throne Town for a while? Shigeko and Sey... kinda remind me of school. Lonely, away from everyone.
Not me. I won't let that happen.
I dunno if telling mom or Aryel about Helen is a good idea
I need more. Not lies, truths. Something convincing. Truths resonate with the divine.
I've gotten better at training; I can escape the bastards now.
Mom is busy helping the village. I think she likes it when I run around in there.
I'll stay over there for a few nights. I will find what's happening.
And keep telling Thibault is ABUSING PEOPLE. Monsters are people.
Remember Helen Takara.

It's almost over. Gods above, Olin... You shouldn't have borne your burdens alone.

I saw the face of evil, and its name is Thibault Eisenhart.
I caught him last week with some of his friends (cronies) paying Vilka to join them in that bathhouse!
He told me to accompany them. I did.
Not a whole lot of people down there, it was dark and creepy, but that guy... he told me he and my mom were friends now. Apparently, he visited our house often when I wasn't there, wanted us to be friends, for me to stop talking and ''spreading rumors''.
I've never told a big, harmful lie. Never. Mother Earth and my mom would get sad.
I'm good. I will be strong. Told him to leave my mom alone.
Things went weird down there. I saw him take out a piece of rock, I think? Kinda shaped like a slice of moon, dunno how to describe it. Was bright orange, strong enough to glow like a lamp.
I saw him and his cronies put something on their faces, an alchemical thingie, then he slipped that piece into one of the incense burners I've seen my mom use.
I've gotten good at running away. So I did, remember all the tricks: kept the exit in mind, gave no hints of my intention and ran without looking back.
I probably breathed in some cause I heard whispers following me.
Singing.
Vilka also sang. Somehow.
Are you singing too, Helen?
I am Olin Aurora. Friend to Helen Takara.
