Seeing as Zul still has some of her costume still on, you ask if she just had another "Jiji" moment, or if she actually has kids.
"I was making a joke. I know it's a bit of a surprise, but I do that on occasion." Zul says. "Also yes, I have a daughter. Her name is Eenon, and I'm quite proud of her. She lives on Mars currently. Fairy world Mars, not your kind's."
You ask about the father, and if he lives at home base as well.
"He has... Passed on." She replies.
You give a short intake of breath, an the apologize.
"Don't worry, it's not like you knew." Zul says.
The awkwardness increases at the same rate as things around you slowly start to dissipate. The glamour has worn off your clothes for instance, turning them back to the pants and hoodie combo you had on at the start of the mission. Looking to your left hand, you still see the cursed accessory on your finger. It still doesn't seem to come off, either.
"I'll schedule you a curse breaking session when we get back. Don't worry, they are very capable." Zul says when you bring this up.
The area starts to resemble a heat haze, with the buildings and even the ground itself appearing almost transparent and mirage-like. The only thing not disappearing is your party, as well as several others who are wandering off in all directions, some in groups, some by themselves. You think you spot humans, but as you point them out Zul says they are fae or half-fae, namely some elves, a clown, and something called a "Blafard"
Hilde and Tamako stroll up beside you and Zul. Both of them are still in costume. To this remark Tamako says, "I like the dress! Can you get me one someday?"
You smile and say you'll see what you can do, You then ask Zul what happens now, and how you will make it home. You are also curious if you will end up in the real world or the fairy one once the story completely collapses.
"The full fairy among us return to the fae world. Most stories leak into reality from a gate, so we'd need to know where that was, or come prepared if we wanted to get into reality from a story. You and Kamiko could go to either realm, though currently you'd be quite far from home base in the human world." Zul says, now fully back in her business clothes and jotting down notes on her pad. "We'll be walking back through the fairy world, so stick close to one us. We'll get going once Kamiko returns."
"Don't worry Dad, I got you. Don't wander off okay?" Tamako says, grabbing your pant leg with one hand and giving you a thumbs up with the other.
